Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is replacing Splash Mountain at Disney World and Disneyland this year, and a ton of new details were just revealed! See what’s in store for Guests.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
The enchantment of the bayou will illuminate with a celebration during Mardi Gras season hosted by Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. It picks up where the movie last left off: with the kiss.
In addition, Mama Odie will reprise her role as the catalyst of that magic. Mama Odie will joke with guests along their journey after a special display of her magic.
The two-hundred-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother, with her eccentric belongings and “seeing eye snake,” Juju, is comically eccentric, yet wise and all-knowing, throughout the adventure.
Take a look at the cool attraction details HERE and the storyline HERE. We love the new water tower and a new look for Princess Tiana herself. And, we finally got a peek inside just last month!
Fun Details
NOLA News recently received a tour of the attraction at Disney World and has a lot to share about the attraction. Let’s start in the queue. The barn in the queue area will serve as the main office for Tiana’s Foods. While you are in the queue, you will also hear an “old timey radio show” with songs performed by New Orleans musicians. Additionally, the loading station will also feature cranes lifting up Tiana’s Foods crates.
Throughout the ride, there will be several fun elements. The concept art shown above shows “the critters” which will appear after that first drop into the indoor portion of the ride. There will also be nods to Splash Mountain throughout the attraction.
The Audio-Animatronics use the same technology as Frozen Ever After in Hong Kong Disneyland. This is really exciting as those are the most technologically advanced ones used by Disney Parks! They will “talk” to Guests as we look for the missing ingredient.
Finally, the big drop will feature a lot of “magic.” While we are not sure exactly what that means, it seems as though magic is a large part of the ride and that final drop.
