At Disney Parks, guests can enjoy the Lunar New Year with special commemorative merchandise. At Walt Disney World, this merchandise has popped up at World of Disney at Disney Springs, in Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and at the China Pavilion at EPCOT.

Lunar New Year celebrations officially begin today, January 23rd, over at California Adventure. This celebration continues through February 18th with great offerings at Disney’s California Adventure including Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, Hurry Home pre-show, great food offerings, and even special character meet and greets.

In honor of the Lunar New Year, guests can meet a few rare characters. For the first time, meet Meilin Lee and her mom Ming Lee from Turning Red on San Francisco Street. They’re observing Chinese traditions together and Meilin is so excited… she’ll be starting to show her Red Panda side!

Returning again this year, guests can meet Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon under the canopy at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Raya first greeted guests at this location back in 2022. We are so glad to see her return to this favorite meet and greet.

Unfortunately, Raya does not greet guests at Walt Disney World. Magic Kingdom Guests can spot Raya along with a cast of great characters during the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade.

For the first time, meet Meilin Lee and her mom Ming Lee from Turning Red on San Francisco Street.

As always, Character Locator continues to offer updated character meet and greet times and locations.
