Disney plans to invest more in Anaheim. However, Disney states that it has become increasingly difficult due to current approvals and the limited space available in Disneyland Parks. Without necessary updates and new Disney experiences, it is unlikely for new attractions and stories to find their way to the Disneyland Resort as they have in other parks worldwide.

The DisneylandForward initiative, along with more flexibility within existing properties, could pave the way for new lands and adventures, similar to those currently being developed at Tokyo DisneySea and Shanghai Disneyland, inspiring new experiences here in Anaheim.

Disney has proposed a $1.9 billion investment into the Disneyland Resort over the next ten years, along with millions more for housing and parks, as part of a new development agreement with Anaheim. The agreement would give Disney the flexibility to choose where it builds new theme park areas, hotels, and dining within its existing footprint.

This proposal was originally announced in 2021 HERE and is expected to be voted on this spring. If approved, the Disneyland Forward development agreement would last until 2064.

Disneyland Forward sets the stage for significant and multi-decade investment in the future. This is the next generation of the Disneyland resort.

More than 25 million people visit Anaheim each year, with most tourists visiting the Disneyland Resort. Wouldn’t it be exciting to see Frozen Land or other wonderfully themed new lands?

The expansion would bring more immersive experiences at Disneyland, with the exciting possibility of new lands, such as Zootopia, Frozen, TRON, and Toy Story Land.

Disney has also announced plans to make significant investments in transportation, parking, transit, and pedestrian safety measures to enhance mobility throughout The Anaheim Resort. The company aims to support future development over the next few decades. This will make it easier to travel around Anaheim and to Disneyland.

Disney plans to construct a new parking destination on the east side of The Anaheim Resort, which will feature one to three pedestrian bridges and upgraded entrance accessibility for hotels and businesses located along Harbor Boulevard. Moreover, Disney will collaborate with area businesses and the city to invest in and promote the use of public transit and ride-sharing for guests and cast members.

What do you think of the Disneyland Forward Proposal? What lands would you like to see come to Disneyland? Is this badly needed, or would you prefer to see upgrades elsewhere like the “blue sky” concepts at Disney World? Let us know in the comments and share this post with a Disney-loving friend.
