Bad Guest behavior is becoming the norm instead of the exception. The Vice President of a prestigious hotel slapped a Disney World Cast Member THREE times over the dumbest thing.
Bad Guest Behavior
Over the last few years, we have seen our fair share of poorly behaved Guests. Whether that be someone sticking their feet in the water on Splash Mountain, brawls breaking out, or a drunk man shutting down the Skyliner, we feel like we have seen it all.
Disney even went so far as to post a courtesy reminder on the website over one year ago.
Be the magic you want to see in the world. You must always remember to treat others with respect, kindness and compassion. Those who can’t live up to this simple wish may be asked to leave Walt Disney World Resort.
Recent Incident
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office just released a report this week detailing an incident that took place in November at the Grand Floridian Resort. The Grand Floridian is a deluxe hotel and is considered the flag ship resort of Disney World.
A drunk man reportedly slapped a Disney World Cast Member three times at Citricos. Citricos is an upscale restaurant at the Grand Floridian that requires a strict dress code. The Guest apparently did not appreciate that the Cast Member would not let him into the restaurant.
Why? Because he was wearing swim trunks.
Reaction
The man is assumed to be the Vice President of Hospitality, Sales, and Marketing at the prestigious Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head. How ironic that the man who is in charge of hospitality of a resort slaps a Cast Member.
The Cast Member warned he would not be able to dine with the rest of his family as he was in swim trunks and a t-shirt. When the family’s table was called, he tried to enter the restaurant with everyone else.
The report states the Cast Member did not let him, and that is when he slapped her three times on the forehead and taunted her. Thankfully, the Cast Member was not injured but she was definitely shook up.
That is when law enforcement officers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office came and arrested the man. He threatened to sue Disney, but he was charged with misdemeanor battery and pleaded not guilty.
