Have you been thinking about a Disney Cruise but unsure where to start or how to prepare? Check out the most often-asked questions and so you can travel like a pro.
Preparations
One of the biggest questions that guests ask about a Disney Cruise Line sailing is if a passport is needed for travel. Depending upon the port that you will leave from, you may be able to cruise with a government-issued ID and your birth certificate (for guests 16 years and older). For guests under 16, only a birth certificate is required.
This is entirely up to the guest, but Disney does highly recommend a passport for each guest for added security. For example, a passport is required for example when flying into Vancouver for an Alaskan sailing.
Without the correct identification, you could be denied boarding. Royal Carriage Vacations will always send you reminders and answer your questions about documentation you will need.
Best Cruise Activities
Disney Cruise Line offers unbeatable entertainment and fun onboard activities. This is one of the main reasons why my (Donna) family loves a Disney Cruise vacation.
As a Royal Carriage Vacation Travel Agent, I (Donna) can help you select the best onboard activities for your family members. You can also learn the secret tricks to utilize the Onboard Navigation app best and choose which dining time will work best for your family. For example, find out the best times to enjoy the AquaDuck with no lines.
Along with onboard activities, there are many great Port Adventures to enjoy off the ship. These vary by sailing, and you can read more about these great experiences HERE.
Disney Cruise Line offers two dining times for dinner. The main dining time is at 5:45 pm and the second seating begins at 8:00 pm. There are benefits to both dining times, and Royal Carriage Vacations can help you select the best dining option for your family.
Location, Location, Location
Many guests worry that they may be miserable during a cruise due to sea sickness. Of course, some great over-the-counter and prescription medications can combat sea sickness. However, the biggest way to alleviate this is location, location, location.
If you have a concern that you or members of your traveling party may suffer from sea sickness, I (Donna) have the best rooms to help you maximize the fun on your Disney Cruise.
Royal Carriage Vacation Travel Agents can help you choose the best sailing on the perfect ship, with the best stateroom. Did you know that certain staterooms are a bit larger than others offered for the same price? Let us help you find the best room for your budget.
Tips for Onboard Check-in
To be able to board the ship, you must complete the Online Check-in to secure a boarding time for your family. This is very important to be able to maximize fun for your first day.
When you book with Royal Carriage Vacations, we will send you a reminder the day before Online Check-in. We will also give you tips for taking Disney-approved headshots of each of your family members. The Online Check-in is at midnight (ET). You do not want to wake up family members to retake these photos.
As you prepare for your first day on board, there are a few key items that you will want to carry on board. With these items on hand, you can keep your family comfortable while enjoying all the fun. These great tips as well as many others are always included with the free concierge travel planning with Royal Carriage Vacations.
Use the form linked above and put my name (Donna) in the Special Request box. Once your reservation is secured, I would love to help you plan and save for you to plan like a pro for your next Disney Cruise.
