Disney offers many great dining opportunities. At a few dining locations, guests must follow a dress code to dine. Thankfully, Disney just made a big change that will affect multiple dining locations. What do you think about this change?
Dress Code
For select dining locations, Disney enforces a dress code at Disney Parks, Disney Resorts, and aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Over the years, many of these dress code standards have relaxed quite a bit. For the most part, guests follow dress code guidelines and have an enjoyable meal.
On a few rare occasions, guests unaware of dress code requirements are not allowed to dine. Recently, a guest visiting Citricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian became physical when he arrived to dinner in swim trunks and a tee shirt.
It is a good idea to be aware of dress code requirements for signature dining locations at Disney and pack accordingly.
New Change
Guests traveling aboard the Disney Cruise Line can enjoy delicious food throughout the day. Some guests aboard choose to enjoy an adult-only dining experience such as Enchante’ on the Disney Wish, Remy on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, Palo Steakhouse on Disney Wish, and Palo on the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy.
These select adult-only dining locations do require a dress code. Disney shares that these adult-only locations are “elegant dining experiences.” Disney requests for Guests to dress in a manner consistent with the restaurant’s sophistication. Formal or semi-formal attire is recommended.
Over the years, the dress code was updated to include dress casual. This includes dress pants, jeans in good condition, collared shirts, dressy tops, and lifestyle shoes.
Brunch at Palo and Palo Steakhouse now allows dress shorts to be worn.
Yesterday, February 22, 2024, Palo and Palo Steakhouse updated their dress code once again for guests dining at brunch. Now guests may wear dress shorts for brunch only. Disney clarifies that clothing such as T-shirts, swimwear, and sports attire are not permitted.

Does it make your food taste better? Hint…look to your table instead of nose in others.

I am fine either way on the DCL dress code. I just hope to be able to go to Palo or Remy again with my family someday.
