Walt Disney World is notorious for creating initial park hours that are quite short, then adjusting them only a few weeks before you travel. This can be both good and bad. Good because you might be in a park earlier or later and bad because it shows that Disney World thinks the parks will be quite busy.
Magic Kingdom
The initial Mid-March park hours for the Magic Kindom showed the park opening at 9:00 AM and closing at 9:00 PM daily. With Spring breaks coming upon us soon, the Magic Kingdom’s park hours have been extended.
From March 10 through 16, 2024, the Magic Kingdom will now open at 8:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM for all day guests. Early Entry for all onsite guests will begin at 7:30 AM. The Extended Evening Hours for select Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club Villa guests will now be offered from 9 PM to 11 PM.
Here’s how you can use that to your advantage. If you’re staying onsite, be sure to arrive at the Magic Kingdom by 6:45 AM and take full advantage of the 7:30 AM Early Entry period. Guests typically head directly for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with some heading to Peter Pan. You can follow that strategy or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
If you are an offsite guest, you might consider starting your day in Tomorrowland or Adventureland. If you have a low boarding group number for Tron, start in Tomorrowland, if you have a number higher than 20, head to Jungle Cruise at 8:00 AM.
Hollywood Studios
The initial Mid-March park hours for Hollywood Studios showed the park opening at 9:00 AM and closing at 9:00 PM daily. With Spring breaks coming upon us soon, the Hollywood Studios park hours have been extended.
From March 10 through 16, 2024, Hollywood Studios will now open at 8:30 AM and close at 9:30 PM for all day guests. Early Entry for all onsite guests will begin at 8:00 AM. Hollywood Studios does not offer Extended Evening Hours for this time period.
If you’re an onsite guest, you might consider arriving early and heading to either Rise of the Resistance or Slinky Dog Dash. If you’re an offsite guest, head to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or Toy Story Mania.
Animal Kingdom
The initial Mid-March park hours for Disney’s Animal Kingdom showed the park opening at 9:00 AM and closing at 6:00 PM daily. With Spring breaks coming upon us soon, the Animal Kingdom park hours have been extended.
March 10-16, Animal Kingdom will be open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with Early Entry at 7:30 AM
If you’re an onsite guest, you might consider arriving early and heading to Avatar Flight of Passage and follow that up with Navi River Journey. If you’re an offsite guest, head to Kilimanjaro Safaris is a great choice as the animals are very active early in the day.
Are you excited for the new park hours or do you dread them with the added crowds they will bring?
