Spring Break has arrived at Disney World. The crowds will affect operating hours as Disney accommodates the influx in Guests. See the changes here.
Spring Break
Spring Break at Disney World is typically considered to last from the first of March through the week after Easter. This year, Easter is on March 31 so we can expect crowds to start dying down the week after.
The Orlando International Airport expects to see 7.6 million passengers during this time. You can read more about that in this post.
While not all 7.6 million people will go to Disney World, we can expect the parks to still be very busy. As such, Disney has extended operating hours as they usually do every week.
Extended Magic Kingdom Hours
Previously, Magic Kingdom was listed to operate from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily from March 24 to March 30. Of course, that is simply not enough time at the most popular theme park in the world.
Now, hours show the park opening at 8:00 am and closing at 11:00 pm. That’s an extra THREE hours!
With this shift in hours, Early Entry will now take place at 7:30 am instead of 8:30 am. And, Extended Evening Hours for deluxe Guests will take place from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am on March 27.
Extended Hollywood Studios Hours
There is no change in opening time for Hollywood Studios during the week of March 24-30. It will continue to open at 9:0 am. Early Entry will continue to be at 8:30 am.
However, the park will close a half hour later at 9:30 pm on March 25, 26, 28, 29, and 30.
While a half hour may not seem like much, it’s enough time to squeeze in another ride or snack!
Extended Animal Kingdom Hours
Finally, Animal Kingdom will be open for longer as well. From March 24-30, the previous hours were 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Now, the park will open an hour earlier at 8:00 am with Early Entry at 7:30 pm. Then, it will close at 7:00 pm on March 24 and and 8:00 pm every other day that week.
