Raglan Road Updates Allergy Statement After Guest Dies

Many Guests with food allergies feel safe eating at Walt Disney World. However, one restaurant at Disney World has recently updated its allergy statement after one guest died.

In October 2023, a Guest (Kanokporn Tangsuan) visited Raglan Road in Disney Springs. This Guest had severe food allergies and sadly had a catastrophic reaction.

Her husband has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Disney World. You can read more about the lawsuit HERE.

Disney World has both Disney-owned and third-party restaurants. Raglan Road is not owned by Disney.

Raglan Road has since updated its Allergy Statement. See the updated statement below:

FOR GUESTS WITH FOOD ALLERGIES. Kindly note that we are NOT a Gluten/Allergen free restaurant. We CANNOT guarantee that any dish we prepare is free from Gluten/Allergen or free from cross contact. Guest must notify their server of any allergy friendly request. A Manager will then discuss our Allergy Menu with you. Guests must use their own discretion to make informed choices based on their individual dietary needs.

With this updated statement, they are making sure it is known they are not an allergen-free restaurant. They also inform the Guests that it is ultimately their decision to dine here.

What Does This Mean for You?

The best thing you can do is to educate yourself on restaurants’ allergy menus and if they can safely accommodate your allergy. Personally, my family (who has food allergies) eats at Disney-owned restaurants versus third-party restaurants. This is my (Heather) own comfort level.

We have had great experiences with Disney-owned restaurants, even navigating the Flower and Garden Festival. Our favorite allergy-friendly must-stop spot in Disney Springs is Erin Mckenna’s Bakery. Check it out HERE.
