We are always happy to hear of new projects taking shape at the Disney Parks, and now a new permit and signs point to a pretty big project coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Find out what we know so far.
Animal Kingdom Expansions
Many guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, may notice that one themed land seems to be extinct. Dinoland USA has needed some work particularly after Disney closed and removed the Primeval Whirl attraction.
Back in September 2023, Disney announced that Dinoland U.S.A. would be reimagined to focus on the tropical Americas – the Northern Part of South America and Central America.
Disney hinted that this new theming may include Encanto and Indiana Jones. This is not the only change announced for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A Zootopia show will soon REPLACE It’s Tough to be a Big in the Tree of Life Theater.
New Permit Filed
If you are a Disney fan, you may be aware that Disney often likes to drop big news of expansion and then it is crickets for several months or even years at times.
Disney has not announced that work will begin soon for any of the before-mentioned projects and expansions. However, a new permit makes us very optimistic.
According to Behind the Thrills, a new permit is filed for a “5-acre trailer compound just north of Kali River Rapids with infrastructure improvements along the BOH roadway leading directly to Dinoland.“
What does this mean?
Disney has not announced work on a Dinoland expansion, but it does appear that Disney is planning a big project for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
A new permit is now filed for a 5-acre trailer compound at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We can’t wait to hear an official word from Disney regarding the new work coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is a promising sign for a “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” at Walt Disney World.
