Wow! 30 years of The Lion King! This movie is the first movie I (Monica) remember seeing at the movie theater!

The Lion King has made its way into our hearts and homes, and we’ve been singing “Hakuna Matata” (and wearing it on our shirts when we visit Animal Kingdom) ever since.

To celebrate this film, “The Lion King” animated film will prowl throughout the entire park from June 10 through September 6, 2024.

First, we have to share character news! Head over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. You can once again meet Timon and Rafiki! Their schedules will be posted on Character Locator and My Disney Experience.

Pirate tip: you have to take a 7-minute train ride out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. This would be a great time to relax and get away from the crowds.

While you are at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, participate in Animation Academy, pet some animals, and earn your Wilderness Explorer badges!

If you love collecting popcorn buckets, you will definitely want to add the Pumbaa popcorn bucket to your pride! Plus, there will be more special treats in store for us, because of course there is.

Of course, we can’t mention this celebration without reminding you that Festival of the Lion King is one of the best live shows at Disney World! Be sure to add it to your visit to Animal Kingdom.
