One Popular Imagineer Has Returned to Disney

Get excited, Disney fans! So many of you have been asking for the return of your favorite Imagineer. That dream appears to be coming true!

A Disney Legend

Recently, Disney announced its Disney Legends for 2024 (see a full list HERE). Among them is Disney Imagineering Legend Joe Rohde!

Joe Rohde is one of the most easily recognizable Imagineers in Disney’s history. He served the company for 40 years before his retirement.

While his influence is in World Showcase, you probably know him best for his remarkable work on Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Not only did he bring Asia and Africa to Central Florida, but he brought Pandora to life for its fans as well. You may also have seen his work explored on Rohdes Less Traveled.

Return of Rohde

Once he was announced as a Disney Legend, our readers became hopeful. Would we eventually see a return of his influence and his keen eye for detail? Today Joe Rohde dropped a big hint that there is at least something in the works!

Rohde took to Instagram and shared a quick reel of approaching the doors at Disney Imagineering. It is captioned “Do a bit of work at the old farm.”

What is Joe Rohde Working On

According to Walt Disney Imagineering, Joe Rohde is doing important work. “Beginning this week, Imagineers have an opportunity to participate in a series of master class work sessions led by Joe Rohde. Following in the footsteps of many former Imagineers, Joe continues to mentor and share his years of storytelling and knowledge with current Imagineers, contributing to the future of creativity at Walt Disney Imagineering.”

Joe Rohde’s work is leading master class work sessions for Imagineers.

We know fans are hoping he could also be involved in Imagineering projects. For one thing, Disney has announced that Avatar is coming to California. Others hope he will weigh in on Disney’s Animal Kingdom expansion. After all, is there anyone who knows Animal Kingdom better than Rohde? If nothing else, at least he will influence the Imagineers who could be involved.
