Disney transportation takes guests all over the Walt Disney World property. However, tonight a major form of transportation isn’t running causing guests to spend extra time and hassle getting around.
Disney World Transportation
Getting around Walt Disney World can be a bit overwhelming. Fortunately, there are many transportation options available for guests. Most Disney transportation services are free, except for Minnie vans and services like Sunshine Flyer or Mears transportation to and from the airport.

Disney’s Monorail
Out of all of the forms of transportation, Disney’s Monorail is probably one of the most popular! The monorail has three separate lines that take guests to the parks, to resorts, and to the Ticket and Transportation Center.
Tonight, the entire monorail system is down! The only way to get from the Ticket and Transportation Center is by Ferry Boat. (The walking path from the Polynesian is closed due to DVC construction.)
Crew members are working on the monorail to get it up and running.
What Does This Mean to You?
Unfortunately, when one form of transportation isn’t running, it can cause delays for the other types. Instead of having buses for resorts regularly using them, now buses are also picking up resorts that usually use the monorail.
Be prepared to leave earlier than expected to reach the parks, especially if you’re staying on a monorail resort.
You may want to consider using an Uber or Minnie Van to get you to your location faster. And the monorail resorts also have boat service to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
We will post updates to let you know when the monorail resumes service for guests.
Does this affect your travel plans? Or have you experienced Disney transportation being down? Let us know in the comments and share this post with a Disney-loving friend.
