Do you dread refurbishments at Walt Disney World? We have great news to kick off your weekend! This Disney World refurbishment wrapped up early and will open to guests today.
Refurbishments
Refurbishment sparks dread around the Disney Parks. From time to time our favorite attractions are closed for a minor or sometimes major refurbishment.
While Guests prepare for upcoming Disney vacations, much time is devoted to selecting the perfect Resort and dining locations for their trip. What Guests may not always consider are current refurbishments scheduled for their Disney Resort.
Many guests select their Disney Resort based on the amenities offered at that resort. For many guests, the pool is a big factor in selecting which resort to stay at.
Port Orleans
Disney’s Port Orleans consists of both Riverside and French Quarter. They both offer great amenities and you can check the pros and cons for each resort HERE.
Port Orleans French Quarter features great theming throughout the resort that allows guests to feel as though they are in the middle of a Mardi Gras parade. The Doubloon Lagoon Pool is the feature pool for this resort.
The Doubloon Lagoon at French Quarter has a blue sea serpent water slide and alligator jazzy touches. For a Moderate Resort, this pool is a big drawing factor for many families.
Reopening Early
The Doubloon Lagoon Pool underwent a pretty big refurbishment starting this past January. When we visited earlier this month, work was still well underway with a projected reopening of April 2024.
The Doubuloon Lagoon Pool reopens early from refurbishment.
This week, many guests shared pictures as pool chairs returned and the pool was refilled once again. Last night, guests enjoyed a late night “soft opening” of the Doubloon Lagoon Pool while all guests can enjoy it today.
