Test Track has gone through a few reimaginings throughout the years, and it will receive another one soon. We have the closing date and new concept art for you right here.
Test Track Reimagining
Head over to the Chevrolet Design Center and build your own virtual concept car. Choose body type, style, color, and more and then take it for a spin on Disney’s test course. You’ll be scored on different criteria like efficiency, speed, adaptability, and more.
Disney is once again partnering with Chevrolet to bring new technology and a great new refurbishment to Test Track at EPCOT. This will help this attraction to stay up to speed (see what we did there).
Inspirtation for the next version of Test Track will come from World of Motion, which was replaced with Test Track. You can read more about the initial news release in this post.
Closing Date
The closure is supposed to take around one year in order to get the attraction completely reimagined. Previously, we heard rumors that the closure would begin in July 2024. You can read that news story HERE.
However, we just learned that closure will begin sooner than anticipated. Test Track will close on June 17, 2024.
Along with the closure date, Disney also released new concept art, which you can see below. It looks more in line with the rest of the transformation taking place throughout the park.
What does this closure mean for you?
If you have a trip planned before June 17, ride Test Track one last time in its current state! We are excited to see what the future holds for this attraction, but it’s always a little bittersweet watching the current version close.
With a headliner being closed for a year, wait times for other rides will increase. We can expect to see longer wait times for attractions like Ratatouille and Frozen Ever After.
Planning a trip to Disney when a headliner is closed can be disappointing. However, having a knowledgable Travel Agent can make your vacation a successful one. See details below for getting in touch with me!
Are you a fan of Test Track? Will you be able to ride it in its current state one last time before it closes? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with someone you know.
