A new article confirms select groups of people will be able to preview Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before it opens to the public. The real news is WHEN this will take place!
A Special Ride
Did you know Tiana’s character is based on the real life chef Leah Chase? It’s true! Through her creativity and determination, she transformed what once was a sandwich shop in Tremé into one of the first African American fine dining establishments in the country in Dooky Chase’s.
It was this story that served as one of the inspirations for the character of Princess Tiana in “The Princess and the Frog,” and of course, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
As a surprise, the family of Leah Chase will get to be among the first to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! But when?! Well, a new article seems to give us the answer.
Nola Article
A news organization based in New Orleans shared the story above and mentioned that the previews for the ride will take place in mid June. Specifically, the family visit will coincide with other special groups like media and travel agents.
It’s fair to assume Cast Member, Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club previews will take place around the same time, so June will be fairly busy with these previews (given the information in the Nola article is correct).
This leaves us with a late June/early July likely opening. As we saw with Tron, there may also be some soft opening dates before the official opening.
Other Clue for a July Opening
While this news does not fall in line with the Cast Member blockout calendar, it does fall in line with another theory: the critter number theory. Yes, I made that up.
The ride may be opening in early July based on the critter number theory.
What is the critter number theory, you ask? When Disney was busy announcing all the new critters, we noticed that one of the pictures (above) has some numbers. Perhaps the numbers 52872 could mean 5/28 and 7/2? Previews begin May 28 and the ride officially opens on July 2? We shall see!
