If you are looking for a delightful treat during your visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando, we have just the place for you. You might see a bit of a line, but it is worth the wait if you are craving something delicious.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
If you head to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando, you might just feel as if you stepped right into the pages of the book or the set of one of the films! The details are absolutely spectacular in both Hogsmead in Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley in Universal Studios.
Not only has Universal recreated some of the most popular places from the books, but it has also brought some of the story’s foods to life. Fans can delight in tasting their way through the theme park’s Harry Potter treats if they wish.
Of course, by now you have probably heard that you can enjoy Butterbeer in the parks. You may also know you can enjoy such treats as Chocolate Frogs. But, did you know that you can also enjoy the ice cream from the stories?
Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour
Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour is an ice cream shop in the Harry Potter stories. It is located in Diagon Alley, near the bookshop.
Now, YOU can spend time eating ice cream in the shop just like the characters in Harry Potter. Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour is home to many unique flavors of soft serve and scoops of ice cream for you to indulge in.
Some of the flavors even come directly from the pages of the book. And, if you want to enjoy it, getting there is pretty simple.
Location
You will find Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour tucked away in Diagon Alley. This, of course, is located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios at Universal Orlando. It is near The Leaky Cauldron.
There is a also newly opened second Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour location in Universal Hollywood. You can read all about it here.

A Long Wait
You will almost always find a line that stretches out the door at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour. The line can move relatively quickly, so don’t let the line deter you too much from indulging in sweet treats.
Plus, the ice cream is generally worth the wait, especially on a warm day in Central Florida. Magical flavors await! But, you will want to eat them quickly before they melt away.
The Menu
If you love soft serve, you have quite a few options to choose from. In fact, deciding what to eat may be the hardest part of your visit to Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour. Everything seems so interesting!
The myriad of soft serve flavors includes Banana, Chocolate, Granny Smith, Mint, Pistachio, Vanilla, Orange Marmalade, Toffee, Toffee Apple, Strawberries & Cream, and Butterbeer! All are available in a cone, a cup, or even a souvenir dish.
You can also enjoy a variety of hard pack ice cream flavors. These include Chocolate Chili, Apple Crumble, Vanilla, Salted Caramel Blondie, Chocolate, Clotted Cream, Earl Grey & Lavender, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Chocolate & Raspberry, Strawberry & Peanut Butter, and Butterbeer.
Of course, you may prefer to indulge in an ice cream sundae, topped just the way you like it. Various toppings are available including hot fudge, caramel, strawberry sauce, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, hundreds and thousands (sprinkles), and more.
The Best Flavors
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to try most of the ice cream flavors at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour. My (Kate’s) favorite, unsurprisingly, is Butterbeer.
If you are a Butterbeer fan, you will love the Butterbeer soft serve. It is a treat I look forward to during every visit! It makes for a delightfully sweet cone!
The hard pack Butterbeer ice cream is also delicious. You can’t go wrong with either iteration of Butterbeer.
However, I will say that the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Salted Caramel Blondie are also pretty special! They are worth a try if you are feeling adventurous and love rich, dynamic flavor profiles.
If you are feeling like having a good old “safe” standby flavor, the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry are all solid choices. I prefer them as a base for a sundae, but if you like things plain, they are good stand-alone flavors, too.
The most unusual flavor is the Earl Grey & Lavender. It is a bit like indulging in a mouth full of potpourri, to be honest. It is one I do not intend to try again.
Lastly, the strawberry & peanut butter is not a combination I expected to like. However, it is one of those things that somehow just magically works! I suppose the idea was, if the flavors work for a sandwich, why wouldn’t it work for an ice cream cone?
What if You are in Islands of Adventure
While Hogsmead does not have a dedicated ice cream shop, if you are in Islands of Adventure with no park-to-park tickets, and you are craving ice cream, you aren’t totally out of luck!
You can indulge in select Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour flavors at Three Broomsticks! The ice cream menu is significantly limited, but the offerings are still solid. Plus, some ice cream is better than no ice cream at all.
They serve several ice cream flavors in individual cups. These include Strawberry and Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Vanilla, or Butterbeer!
My travel party likes to grab a few cups of ice cream or a few Butterbeers to go. We enjoy eating (or drinking) them while we wait for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. It makes the time pass all the more sweetly.
