This is not the news that many Walt Disney World guests expected to hear. Find out which Walt Disney World Resort is now notifying guests of two indefinite closures.
Transportation Closure
With many guests choosing to fly to Florida, a transportation closure can definitely change plans. Guests prepare for rainy days at the parks, but many guests may not plan for low water levels in Florida.
Select resorts in the Disney Springs Resort Area can enjoy a complimentary water taxi to Disney Springs. This includes the following Disney Resorts: Disney’s Old Key West, Disney’s Saratoga Springs, Disney’s Port Orleans- Riverside, and also Disney Port Orleans- French Quarter.
This transportation closure began on April 28, 2024 and is still in effect. Bus transportation to Disney Springs is now available at these resorts.
Closure Notice
The Doubloon Lagoon Pool at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter underwent a pretty big refurbishment starting this past January. The pool reopened earlier than scheduled at the end of March.
Unfortunately, the Doubloon Lagoon Pool is now closed for “unexpected maintenance.” Disney is now notifying guests with upcoming reservations of this closure.
The spa and children’s activity area remains open from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm. Guests are invited to enjoy the Ol’ Man Island Pool at Port Orleans Riverside.
Shuttle services from Port Orleans French Quarter to Port Orleans Riverside will run daily from 10:00 am until 11:00 pm.
What you need to know
Both the water taxi and the Doubloon Lagoon Pool are closed indefinitely. These two amenities are why many guests choose to stay at Disney’s Port Orleans.
The Doubloon Lagoon Pool is closed indefinitely.
Guests are encouraged to contact the resort front desk for further assistance. Bus transportation is available to both Disney Springs and for guests to enjoy the feature pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside.
