The new DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort will open later this year! In the meantime, Disney just shared new concept art, details, a NEW room type, and booking dates for those interested.
New DVC Tower
A couple years ago Disney announced the new DVC tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. The 3 current DVC buildings at the resort were converted from regular “cash” accommodations back in 2015.
The Polynesian is a very popular resort, and because there is such a small supply of DVC rooms, the demand is pretty high.
In addition to a soft goods refurbishment that took place a couple years ago, Disney is adding a 10-story tower which will include a larger variety of rooms. Currently, only studios and bungalows are available for DVC. I am excited for 1- and 2- bedroom villas as well!
New Details
Disney shares one of the original concepts for the Polynesian included a tower, and now Imagineers are completing that early vision. Many have complained that a tower doesn’t suite the Poly well. It’s interesting that Imagineers back in the early 1970s included one.
This DVC tower has an official name: Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. It is still projected to open in December 2024.
When you arrive at Island Tower, you will notice beautiful designs created exclusively for the exterior, including a gorgeous Manta Ray that symbolizes freedom, protection and grace.
Inside the lobby, you will be greeted by an art panel installation on the ceiling inspired by several Polynesian Islands, showcasing wildlife native to each locale. Each animal holds a strong connection to the islands and symbolizes values important to Polynesians.
Booking Dates
On June 4, 2024 DVC Members can book early rental reservations (phone only). Points-based reservations can be booked at a later date. Then, Annual Passholders can begin making rental reservations on June 5 (phone only).
Finally, all Guests can make reservations on June 6 either online or by phone. If you want someone to book for you, I can help! See details below for booking one of these gorgeous new rooms.
A new room category, called, two-bedroom penthouse villas, will be available to book.
Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will feature a variety of room types that will sleep from two to nine guests, including duo studios, spacious one- and two-bedroom villas and brand-new two-bedroom penthouse villas. Many rooms will feature spectacular views.
We are getting more excited by the day to see this new tower! Do you like the new details Disney announced? Let us know in the comments below. And, be sure to share this post with your Poly-loving friends!
