Epcot is on the back end of a multi-year transformation. Thankfully most of the walls are down and projects are coming to an end. However, one new refurbishment will take place this summer. And, it’s kind of a bummer because it’s a great place to escape the heat.
Refurbishments
We have a love/hate relationship with refurbishments. It’s always a bummer to see your favorite show, ride, or hotel close during your stay. However, they are often necessary (and we usually love the updates).
Currently, there are a few attractions currently undergoing refurbishment or will be soon. At Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Jamboree are closed.
At Epcot, Test Track will close next month for a year-long refurbishment. The ride will receive some great upgrades and a bit of an overhaul. You can read about that HERE.
Another Epcot Refurbishment
The Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member lounge will temporarily close this summer. It is located in the Imagination Pavilion in World Nature.
This is a special spot for Members and their Guests to relax and cool off. It is indoors which is really nice for those hot summer months at Disney World.
The Member Lounge will be temporarily closed from June 2, 2024 – July 13, 2024 due to a planned refurbishment. The Lounge is scheduled to reopen on July 14, 2024.
Where To Go Instead
We have some good news for those of you who are bummed about this news. During this closure, please use a temporary lounge space located inside The Odyssey.
The Odyssey is a great place to relax, and a lounge will be available for DVC Members during the refurbishment.
Epcot has many great shows around the World Showcase where you can escape the heat and get off your feet for a bit. While not indoors, the World Celebration garden has a lot of seating and outlets to recharge your devices.
