Walt Disney World attractions close for many reasons and these can be disappointing. We just discovered an upcoming closure that doesn’t quite make sense. What do you think of this closure?
Upcoming Closures
Since Walt Disney World does not close for select seasons, refurbishments and maintenance take place during operating hours. Some attractions close for a lengthy amount of time, such as the refurbishment of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Frontierland.
Some attractions can remain open while refurbishments are taking place, such as Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While other attractions are closed for almost half a year such as with Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
These refurbishments may be unpopular, but they are needed to help maintain attractions. What seldom makes sense is when attractions are closed for seemingly no reason.
New Closure
Magic Kingdom offers many attractions both outdoor and indoor. Many guests enjoy the indoor attractions to help escape the hot, Florida summer heat.
Today we noticed an operational change for The Hall of Presidents. The operational calendar shows that this attraction will be closed for June 9th and June 10th.
At this time, The Hall of Presidents does not appear on the Walt Disney World Refurbishment list, and we have not seen a permit for upcoming work on this attraction.
What you need to know
This may be a bit of a bummer if you plan to visit the Magic Kingdom on June 9th and 10th. This attraction has been a staple of the Magic Kingdom since its opening in 1971.
Hall of Presidents will close June 9th and 10th.
Although not quite the same as The Hall of Presidents, you can enjoy a bit of American history while visiting EPCOT. Over at the American pavilion, enjoy the amazing harmonies of Voices of Liberty, and you can also take part in a dramatic production of America’s story.
No date has been given yet, but in June a new art exhibit will be on display by President George W. Bush. Read more on that HERE.
