If you are looking for the perfect Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to consider Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. You might find it has just the sort of charm and perks you are looking for in the Disney vacation of your dreams!
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Are you looking for a deluxe resort with easy access to Walt Disney World theme parks paired with a bit of charm? If so, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort may be the place for you!
At one time, Yacht Club was described as stuffy. However, on my (Katie’s) most recent Spring 2024 trip, my family found that this wasn’t the case at all.
In fact, the Yacht club wasn’t just “not stuffy,” it was downright pleasant. And, it’s most likely going to get even better in the next year or so after a refurbishment that will be occurring to refresh some of the rooms.
Here are 5 reasons you should add Yacht Club to your list of resorts to consider.
1. Location
Yacht Club is an EPCOT area resort. This means that you can easily walk to EPCOT from your room and enter the park via International Gateway between France and the UK pavilions.
The location makes rope dropping Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure a breeze! Or if you prefer, you can start your day at Frozen Ever After and try for a rare chance to name the Forgetful Troll!
Of course to capitalize on this location benefit, you will still want to arrive early so that you can position yourself towards the front of the queue, but it is only a short walk with no need to rely upon Disney’s complimentary transportation services to get you there in time.
Not only that, but the location also gives you easy access to Disney’s Boardwalk. Fun nighttime entertainment is right there for you to enjoy!
Finally, you could walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios if you like. BUT, there is an even easier option thanks to Yacht Club’s great transportation options!
2. Transportation
Next, Yacht Club offers great transportation options. Sure, the Monorail is a classic, but have you ever tried the Disney Skyliner? This amazing service provides transportation with reliably short waits from Yacht Club to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it serves as a fun attraction for families to enjoy (weather permitting).
Simply walk to the Skyliner Station just outside of EPCOT to hop in a gondola and glide to your destination. It stops at Disney’s Riviera Resort as well as Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort where Guests will transfer to continue on to Hollywood Studios.
Yacht Club also offers boat transportation to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the other EPCOT Area Resorts. These include Swan and Dolphin, Disney’s BoardWalk, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Of course, as I mentioned, walking is an option to get to these resorts as well. Sometimes it is faster than the boats!
Finally, you can utilize bus transportation to get to Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While the bus isn’t glamorous, the bus service to and from Yacht Club has some perks.
For one thing, there is only one bus stop for Yacht Club. So, unless the bus is being shared with Beach Club, you will not have to sit through any internal bus stops to get to and from your destination.
Secondly, the drop-off and pick up locations for Yacht Club are better than the moderate and value resorts. It will save you some steps!
3. Deluxe Benefits
Remember that Disney’s Yacht Club is also a Deluxe resort, so it comes with Deluxe benefits. One of these is that the rooms are a bit larger than value or moderate accommodations.
But, the most important of these is the Extended Evening Hours perk for Deluxe Resorts. You will love having extra time to enjoy select theme parks with lower crowds and minimal wait times!
You will love enjoying Extended Evening Hours as a Guest at a Deluxe resort.
4. Pool
Another amazing perk is Stormalong Bay. This is a 3-acre water park shared by Disney’s Yach Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Not only will you find multiple pools, including a lazy river, but you will also enjoy a sandy beach, perfect for building sandcastles! Adults can enjoy 3 hot tubs as well.
Most importantly, thrill seekers can experience the Flying Jib water slide. It is one of Disney’s tallest hotel water slides, and it sends Guests gliding across 230 feet of fun!
Not only that, but as it is with all Disney Resorts, Cast Members are on hand here to lead fun activities for children! Meanwhile, adults can live their best lives enjoying the loungers and indulging in treats from Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill.
However, before you book, be sure to check for refurbishment updates. You don’t want to make plans to enjoy the pool while it is unavaliable!
5. Dining
Finally, a stay at the Yacht Club positions Guests to enjoy some of Walt Disney World’s Best dining options. The resort houses a quite hidden gem Ale and Compass and an ever-popular option- Yachtsman Steakhouse.
However, it is easy to venture right next door to Beach Club and enjoy a character meal at Cape May or a lunch, dinner, or ice cream fix at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop! Don’t forget to try a Kitchen Sink!
And, don’t forget that Boardwalk is a quick walk from Yacht Club. Here you can enjoy delicious options at Flying Fish, another hidden gem, as well as Disney’s best Italian food at Trattoria al Forno.
But that’s not all! The Skyliner also opens up easy access to one of Disney’s most popular Character meals at Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera. Be sure to check out Topolino’s Terrace for dinner as well as it is outstanding! You might also consider a meal at Disney’s best hotel quick-service restaurant Primo Piatto.
And, if you are feeling like eating somewhere deliciously unique, head to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to enjoy Sebastian’s Bistro! It is akso easily accessible on the Skyliner.
Best of all, EPCOT is so easy to get to, and it has some of the best food in the theme parks. You can eat your way around the world and head back to your room with minimal effort!
Overall
Yacht Club had a quiet and luxurious vibe over all. But, it wasnt the pretentious type of luxury; rather, it was laid back luxury.
While my family prefers the location of Beach Club, Yacht Club was certainly a great alternative. It was a few extra steps with all of the same great perks!
