What seemed to be an eyesore just debuted the character experience we didn’t even know we needed. Find out which rare characters are out and how you can join the fun.
Eyesore at Hollywood Studios
On Friday, we shared that a HUGE stage obstructed the Chinese Theatre (check out photos HERE). The stage appears to be in place for a special private event on June 5th.
Along with the large stage being an eyesore, it will also affect nighttime entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Due to the large stage setup, the “Wonderful World of Animation” show is canceled tonight and every night until June 7, 2024.
This led us and many guests to wonder how Walt Disney World could justify canceling nighttime entertainment for an entire week. Thankfully, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is putting this stage to good use.
New Character Experience
With this large stage in place for several days, a new backdrop has been added and a DJ booth is in place. Throughout the day this large stage allows for dancers and even rare characters to delight guests.
This may not be the image that guests thought of for a day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but at least Disney is bringing a bit of extra magic to the space.
Guests share that yesterday and today they danced alongside King Louie and Baloo from The Jungle Book. They have jived with our favorite chipmunks Chip ‘n’ Dale. Get ready for this next one, even Phineas & Ferb are out along with Scrooge McDuck and Launchpad. We can’t wait to see who else may join the party over the next few days.
Limited Time
This is a fun impromptu experience that does not appear on the My Disney Experience app. The special event will take place on Wednesday, June 5th, so we anticipate that guests can enjoy these fun dance parties and character interactions throughout Wednesday.
Rare characters interact with guests in front of the huge stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You can always keep up with all the best character tips on Character Locator. This is a really fun experience that we wish would happen more often.
Will you visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios on these dates? Which rare character would you like to see? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
