What We Hope Disney Will Change as Jollywood Nights Returns

What We Hope Disney Will Change as Jollywood Nights Returns

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will once again dazzle guests with Jollywood Nights for 2024. This is what we hope will be different this year. What changes would you make for this event?

For 2023, Walt Disney World announced a first-ever holiday event to be held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Jollywood Nights was first introduced as a holiday vibe like you’ve never before experienced.

Guests were invited to enjoy sparkling décor, sounds of modern beats over classic holiday songs, tastes of craft cocktails, and decadent dishes. It’s nostalgic, and it’s glitz and glam galore.

Throughout the holiday season, guests attending Jollywood Nights received surveys to share their experiences. This was a good sign that Disney was interested in what guests thought, but many wondered if it would return in 2024.

Today, we see the first signs that Jollywood Nights will return in 2024. A Disney Casting Notice is looking for “male and female presenting dancers with exceptional dance technique and performance quality. Must be proficient in multiple styles of dance that include musical theatre jazz and swing.”

At this time dates and pricing are not yet revealed for this special ticketed event, but we are optimistic that this event will be new and improved this year.

One great sign for the event this year is in the casting notice. The call for dancers sounds as if it may be for the Hollywood Muppet Variety Show. This features a live band and talented hosts who dazzle the stage.

Special appearances by Tiana, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Mickey & Minnie Mouse made this show the BEST part of Jollywood Nights for me (Donna). You can check out my full review HERE.

Hopeful for New Changes

With less than glowing reviews of the first few dates, Disney added more characters to this event. It appeared that they really wanted to meet guests’ expectations. With that in mind, we hope that additional changes will be made this year.

Many of the photo booths seemed awkward for many and the musical offerings seemed a bit off.  Instead of a cohesive feel, there was Latin music, a DJ in front of the Chinese Theatre, and a live band at Tower of Terror.

We are hopeful that a more immersive experience will come to the Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club along with more characters and more Disney-themed entertainment.
