Rainy days are bound to happen even at Walt Disney World. Many attractions and experiences are affected by adverse weather, but Disney created a rainy-day backup plan for this new experience.
Rainy Days at Disney
Since Walt Disney World is in Central Florida, rain can crop up at any time. It might be a brief sprinkle or a thorough drenching. Fortunately, much of the time it dissipates almost as quickly as it begins. From time to time there is rain that lingers, and there might even be a storm.
There are many things that you can do to prepare for rain. Be sure to check out these tips, but many attractions and entertainment options are greatly affected by the rain.
Indeed, Disney cannot control the weather, but it seems as if more rainy-day backup plans should be in place for a theme park in central Florida.
The Show Must Go On
Disney created a rainy-day backup plan for the newest show at EPCOT “¡Celebration Encanto!” This outdoor fiesta celebrates the magic of Encanto in a new show featured on the CommuniCore Plaza Stage.
This week has been a pretty wet one at Walt Disney World, and guests hoping to enjoy this new show worried that it would be canceled due to the weather. Thankfully the fiesta shifted indoors to the CommuniCore Hall.
Guests could still sing and dance along to their favorite Encanto songs with Mirabel and Bruno. It is great that Disney thought ahead and provided a hall that could accommodate guests when the weather could have canceled this show.
What you need to know
“¡Celebration Encanto” will delight guests for a limited time at EPCOT this summer until September 6, 2024. You can see full showtimes HERE.
Thankfully, “¡Celebration Encanto!” is held indoors if there is rain in the forecast.
We appreciate the thought and preparation to allow guests to enjoy this show rain or shine. It would be great if Disney World continues to think of alternative ways to provide guest experiences when rainy days occur.
