Temporary Closure for One Restaurant on Disney World Property

From time to time temporary restaurant closures need to happen at Walt Disney World. Find out if the latest temporary restaurant closure will affect your Disney vacation.

Planned Dining Closures

Nobody likes when a refurbishment/closure happens at Walt Disney World. From time to time our favorite attractions, restaurants, and even sections of hotels are closed for a minor or sometimes major refurbishment.

There are already several resort dining locations scheduled for refurbishment this summer!

Walt Disney World has notified Guests staying at POP Century that the Everything POP Food Court will close for a refurbishment starting July 29th. All Star Movies Guests received a similar email, however, that refurbishment will be shorter.

Shades of Green

Shades of Green is the military-only hotel on Disney property. Shades of Green officially opened on February 1st, 1994.

The name Shades of Green refers to the different shades of green our Armed Forces wear on their uniforms as well as the fact that the resort sits in between two golf courses.

The resort was so popular the Department of Defense decided to buy the resort straight from Disney in 1996. While the DoD is financially responsible for it all, Disney still owns about 30 acres that the resort sits on.

Closure

In a post on Instagram, Shades of Green shared that Garden Gallery Marketplace will be closed from July 7th until September 29th while they reevaluate their summer offerings. Garden Gallery will still be open for breakfast daily from 7 am to 11 am.

Shades of Green is encouraging Guests to visit their other dinner options, which include the Evergreen Sports Bar and Mangino’s.
