Can you believe there are still areas of Walt Disney World that have yet to reopen after the 2020 Park closure? Finally, this location reopens, but with a fresh, new purpose. Check out all the details.
Magic Kingdom
When many guests think of Walt Disney World, their first thought is often of Magic Kingdom and Cinderella Castle. This park holds so many memories for many, and oftentimes we want this park to remain the same.
While not undergoing a huge transformation, Magic Kingdom is seeing many changes. From Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replacing Splash Mountain, to the removal of the Shootin’ Arcade, and even to an extended refurbishment for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Frontierland is changing.
There are still more changes over in Adventureland. Tortuga Tavern appears closed, and fingers crossed this may be home to the new Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern.
Finally Reopened
As many say, as soon as one door closes another opens. As Tortuga Tavern closed in Adventureland, the Agrabah Bazaar finally reopened.
Agrabah Bazaar is located in Adventureland near the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and near where guests meet Aladdin and Jasmine throughout the day.
Last opened in 2020, Agrabah Bazaar invited both “street rats” and princesses into this fun retail location featuring Aladdin and Arabian-themed items. For four years, this location remained closed.
Reimagined Purpose
This weekend as guests explored Magic Kingdom, Agrabah Bazaar reopened but with a new purpose. Instead of another retail location, guests can enjoy seating and a selection of snacks.
Agrabah Bazaar reopens for the first time in four years.
Currently, Agrabah Bazaar still shows as “temporarily unavailable” on the Disney website. However, available snack items include popcorn, cotton candy, Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar, Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Sandwich, Strawberry Fruit Bar, Frozen Banana, and an Olaf Frozen Lemonade Strawberry Bar.
There is also a selection of bottled beverages as well. It is unclear if this is simply for the summer or if this location is permanently reopened. We are thankful for additional seating and shade from the summer rays.
What do you think of this reopening? Do you like this as a snack stand or miss the previous retail location? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.
