Many people love to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which launches guests in a “stretch limo” from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds. This attraction is an ultimate thrill ride, but it is no secret that it has not been very reliable over the past years.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster often has temporary downtimes which can cause wait times to soar for guests choosing to save their place in line. Many times this attraction fails to open at park opening, but usually opens later in the day.

The ride closed for a lengthy refurbishment in 2023. Many hoped that this extended refurbishment would help correct the ongoing ride malfunctions. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We did see a few notable changes for the ride when it reopened. Check these out HERE.

Disney still has quite a few issues to fix with the attraction, so they closed the ride again in 2024. It has been unavailable since January 8, 2024.

At that time, there was no reopening date posted. Disney just said it would reopen this summer.

But then we learned Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would reopen on July 27, 2024. From start to finish, the refurbishment will have lasted 6 months. But, wait! There’s a NEW reopening date!

If you will be at Hollywood Studios in July, you will be happy to hear that the ride shows operating hours beginning July 1, 2024! This is almost an entire month ahead of schedule!

We will plan to check it out after it reopens and share any changes that we notice, so stay tuned!
