Today, July 5th, a heat advisory has been issued for Central Florida. The heat advisory is from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a heat index of up to 110!
The National Weather Service wants people to know that the high heat and humidity could cause heat-related illnesses!
The warning was issued for Inland Indian River, Inland Martin, Inland Saint Lucie, Northern Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Southern Lake counties.
What Does This Mean for You?
Guests are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and stay out of the sun. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning and evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks from the heat.
