Summer is becoming the slower season as many Guests prefer to visit during other times of the year. Disney has begun utilizing these summer months to refurbish attractions, and another has been added to the list.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Magic Kingdom may be the Most Magical Place on Earth, but it still needs maintenance and updates! A few attractions are currently closed for work.
Peter Pan’s Flight is currently closed until August 20, 2024. It will reopen on August 21. And, Country Bear Jamboree reopens later this month after a 6-month refurbishment.
Now, another attraction will be closed this summer, although we are unsure why.
Jungle Cruise
Board a tramp steamer with your trusty (and funny) skipper as you travel around the world to experience the most treacherous waters. We love their puns and jokes, but truly do feel sorry for those sleeping zebras (IYKYK).
Jungle Cruise will be closed beginning August 26, 2024. As of now, the Disney World calendar only goes until September 7, and it is still showing as closed then.
September 7 is not likely the reopening date, so we will keep you posted when we learn that date.
What does this mean for you?
While we don’t know why the attraction is closing or how long it will last, this refurbishment is likely for some unseen upgrade. The ride just received new elements a few years ago to update the storyline.
We also anticipate Big Thunder Mountain to close sometime this fall for a lengthy refurbishment.
Depending on if/when these refurbishments overlap, that will put two popular attractions out of commission at the Magic Kingdom. Thankfully, Peter Pan’s Flight and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be/are open!
