We first broke the news that the Jungle Cruise in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on July 9. The refurbishment was listed on the My Disney Experience app to close for refurbishment on August 24, 2024, but no re-opening timeline was provided at that time.

We know that this is an extensive refurbishment and is needed to keep the attraction available at optimal performance. We were informed that the refurbishment involves replacing some of the track that the boats follow through the attraction.

While Walt Disney World has not given us a specific opening date at the time of publishing, we were informed that the attraction will open “before the Winter holidays begin.”

The attraction will likely open with the “Jingle Cruise” overlay. In Walt Disney World terms the Winter holiday season begins on November 8, 2024. So, we expect the attraction to be available by that time.

We do not expect any major changes to occur to the theming of this attraction during this refurbishment. It should appear very similar to what you have seen in recent years.

Jungle Cruise Removed from Holiday Parties

As you can see from the post below, the Jungle Cruise has currently been removed from all Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties. It’s possible that the attraction will be available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

The last major refurbishment for the Jungle Cruise in the Magic Kingdom was completed in 2017.
