This is not a drill! Walt Disney World is testing a Single Rider entrance for Rise of the Resistance. Check out full details for where to enter and how much of the pre-show will be affected for guests in the Single Rider line.
Rise of the Resistance
Rise of the Resistance continues to be very popular. Up until now, there were only two ways to enjoy this attraction. The first is to wait in the standby line. Your best chance of riding in less than an hour is by using Early Entry or getting in line right before closing.
The second option is to pay to ride. You can opt out of the standby line using the Individual Lightning Lane option and ride with a confirmed return time. Typically these Individual Lightning Lanes sell out quickly.
Experienced Disney guests know Rise of the Resistance often closes temporarily throughout the day. We attempted to enjoy this attraction at early entry on multiple occasions only to find that it had a delayed opening.
Single Rider Testing
Thankfully, we may now have a third option to enjoy Rise of the Resistance. Over the weekend, guests noticed signs for Single Rider testing at Rise of the Resistance.
Single rider lines are separate lines in select attractions for those traveling solo or do not mind riding the attraction without the rest of their party. Single riders get squeezed in wherever there is a seat available.
Attractions at Disney World that utilize Single Rider access include Expedition Everest, Test Track (currently closed for refurbishment), Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and when wait times are higher, Soarin‘.
What you need to know
Currently, in this testing phase, the Single Rider entrance is located at the attraction’s exit. This line will move much quicker. Be aware that you will miss the pre-show featuring Rey and miss hopping aboard the Intersystem Trasport Ship.
Disney is testing the Single Rider entrance for Rise of the Resistance at this time.
Guests using the Single Rider entrance will enter at the Star Destroyer hangar. This is great news for seasoned Disney guests, but this may not be worth the wait in line for newer guests to this attraction.
