Flight delays and canceled flights are definitely something you do not want to see while traveling, but they do happen. Unfortunately, travelers around the globe are experiencing this today. Are you one of them?
Flight Delays and more
Traveling is one of those luxuries that millions of people can enjoy. However, sometimes it is a struggle to get to your ultimate destination. Flights can be delayed or completely canceled for any number of reasons.
Weather often impacts flights the most. However, sometimes you may run into mechanical issues with the planes or even technical issues which cause even more trouble.
While delays and canceled flights can be frustrating trying to get where you need to be, you should be prepared and ultimately be patient.
CrowdStrike Outage
CrowdStrike is an American cybersecurity technology firm that provides cloud workload protection, threat intelligence and cyberattack responsive services.
Today, a technical issue has created chaos for travelers worldwide. The CEO, George Kurtz issued the following statement earlier this morning.
“CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts. Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed,”

Multiple airlines including American Airlines, Delta and United issued ground stops for a number of their flights.
What You Can Do
If you are one of the many travelers who are being affected by this, stay up to date with your airline. Some airlines are issuing waivers to customers to make changing your travel plans easier.
The FAA is also continuing to monitor the situation. To stay up to date, you can check the status HERE. At the current time, there are still a number of ground delays and complete airport closures.
This is sure to be ongoing throughout the day until the issue has been fixed. If you are traveling today, be sure to allow plenty of time for delays or any possible cancellations. If your plans are flexible, see if you can possibly reschedule. Above all, try and be patient because this is frustrating for not only yourself, but everyone else too.
