If you love Disney’s thrill rides, you are going to need to know about 2 upcoming attraction closures. Here is what to expect.
Disney Ride Refurbishments
“Pardon our Pixie Dust” is Disney’s polite way of alerting Guests that something is not quite right. But, Disney fans know that the phrase is pretty much the equivalent of saying, “You aren’t going to like this very much.”
The phrase typically indicates that work around the parks. Often it means that an attraction, restaurant, pool, resort area, etc. will temporarily close down for maintenance or refurbishment.
Sadly, refurbishment is an important part of the world of theme parks. After all, refurbishment ensures that rides maintain a high standard of safety. Can anyone truly enjoy the magic if they are stressed over safety?
Here are two refurbishments you need to know about! One is Space Mountain and the other is Indiana Jones Adventure.
Update: We actually just received an opening date for one more ride!
Space Mountain
Earlier this summer, we found out that Space Mountain in Disneyland is going to be down for a temporary closure. During this time, work will be done to update the ride’s lighting, including the lighting effect in the tunnel.
The attraction will close on August 5, 2024. The refurbishment will take a full month.
And, we now have a refurbishment end date. Space Mountain is set to re-open on September 6, 2024.
Indiana Jones Adventure
Indiana Jones Adventure will also incur a temporary closure for refurbishment. Exact details have yet to be announced. However, we do know the closing date.
Indiana Jones Adventure will close on September 9, 2024.
Disney has not revealed a reopening date. We will share the announcement once we have confirmation.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Popular and iconic Disneyland dark ride, Pirates of the Caribbean went down for refurbishment earlier in the summer. However, Disney finally has an opening date for this one!
You won’t have to wait long to ride again. It is expected to re-open Friday, August 2, 2024.
Do either of these attraction closures affect your upcoming Disneyland visit? Let us know in the comments. And, be sure to pass this news along to your friends and family so they can manage their expectations when they visit the parks.
