The resort pools are pretty much a necessity since Florida is hot most of the year. New restrictions are coming that you should be aware of.
Disney World Resort Pools
Each Disney World resort has a feature pool, and most have other “quiet pools” which are great for relaxing. The pools are especially nice during the hot months, which realistically, is March through November!
Did you know moderate and deluxe resorts have a slide in their feature pool? Value resorts do not!
There are a few rules for the pools at Disney World. And, more are coming…
Pool Rules
Of course, standard pool rules apply at Disney World. Small kids should wear swim diapers, don’t swim if you’ve been sick, etc. However, a big pool rule specific to Disney is you cannot pool hop. This means you cannot swim at a pool that you are not staying at.
For most of the pools, this is not a big deal. However, for bigger feature pools like Stormalong Bay, this can become a problem because of its popularity.
Guests of Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club are given wristbands and must use a MagicBand or room key to access the pool. This keeps non-Guests out of this amazing pool.
Expanding
It appears Disney is testing this wristband feature out at another pool. Guests staying at Caribbean Beach Resort are also receiving wristbands. While we are unsure why this is happening (the feature pool at Caribbean Beach is cool, but not that cool), this appears to be a permanent change.
Wristbands are required to use the pool at Caribbean Beach Resort.
At this time, Yacht/Beach Club and Caribbean Beach are the only Disney World resorts requiring a wristband. We will keep you posted if this change occurs at other hotels as well!
Do you think wristbands are a good thing for Disney World feature pools? Are they necessary at all pools or just select ones? Let us know in the comments below, and share this post with a friend.
