Even though the live-action reboots have had mixed reviews, people tend to receive live-action prequel stories such as Maleficent or Cruella more favorably. I (Heather) enjoy seeing a new part of the story versus a retelling of the classic.

When The Lion King (2019) had financial success, Disney announced a new installment! What makes this installment even more fun is Disney taking the prequel in a different direction.

We aren’t getting the villain’s story, we are getting the hero’s story! It will take moviegoers along on Mufasa’s rise to royalty in The Pride Lands.

Originally, Mufasa: The Lion King was supposed to hit theaters this summer on July 5, 2024. Unfortunately, last fall Disney announced that we would have to wait a bit longer for this debut.

The theatrical debut is now set for December 20, 2024.

Like many movies, the film got pushed back. It is now set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024. You can read more about the delayed release HERE.
