This is one D23 announcement we were NOT expecting. New Cars attractions are coming to Disney World, and you will never guess where!
Cars Announcement
Dreamers of all ages absolutely adore the Cars franchise. CarsLand in Disneyland is wildly popular, and now the story is expanding!
Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater are racing into The Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World! At D23, Josh D’Amaro announced that a new Cars-themed area is in the works!
The surprising part is that this new Cars area is going to be an addition to Frontierland. Josh D’Amaro connected the land to the film saying, “The American West has always been about keeping your eyes on the horizon … believing in yourself, carving your own path, and striving toward success. That goes for miners in the mountains, bears from the country, a princess from the bayou … or a racecar from the big city!”
Cars Attractions
The land is going to head beyond Radiator Springs. There is brand-new territory to explore!
One attraction will take Guests racing through the mountains! You will take on wild terrain as you race across the landscape climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers, and splashing through mudholes.
The second attraction will be geared towards smaller racers. Expect something the whole family can enjoy, even the smallest Cars fans. Work on this area begins in 2025. There is no anticipated date of completion yet.
