The Release Date is Now Set for Frozen 3

Frozen 3 is currently in the works, and it is far enough along that Disney is confident in setting a release date!

With the massive success of Frozen (2012) and Frozen 2 (2018), Disney is ready to continue the story. During the 2024 D23 Expo, Disney shared that Frozen 3 was pushed back a year.

We also learned that the third and fourth movies will be more of a series. Whereas the first two were their own stories, this leads us to believe the next two will have a connected storyline.

Who’s in and who’s out

When Frozen 3 does come out, we have some familiar voices to look forward to! Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathon Groff, and Josh Gad are all reprising their roles for Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf.

At this time, we do not know what the storyline will be for the third installment. And, it’s likely we won’t know for a couple more years.

Unfortunately, Frozen and Frozen 2 co-director Jennifer Lee has confirmed that she will not return to direct Frozen 3. She worked on the first two movies alongside Chris Buck.

Release Date

When Disney shared that Frozen 3 had been pushed back from 2026 to 2027, they did not share a release date. But, we now have a date: November 24, 2027.

Frozen 3 will premiere in theaters on November 24, 2027.

This follows previous Frozen trends as November 24, 2027 is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We look forward to learning more about the film!
