You are planning a trip to Walt Disney World! You have your resort room booked and transportation planned, the next big decision is which park to visit on which day of your vacation.

Park hours are a great way to plan which park you would like to plan for each day. Walt Disney World posts rather standard park hours in advance, and many times these park hours are extended. This is great news when you are planning your trip to enjoy both an earlier entry and also a later park closing.

However, there is a hidden secret that may not make sense when you look at Disney Park hours. If a park closes early, that can actually be the best day to visit.

Disney just posted hours leading into October, and one date in particular stands out to us. On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, EPCOT will close at 5:00 pm for a private event.

Many guests will avoid EPCOT with this early closing, but hear us out this can actually be a good thing. Our experience has been that days when Magic Kingdom closes early for specially ticketed events, such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, can be magical.

Many guests will avoid EPCOT on this date, creating low wait times. Although you will miss the nighttime show “Luminous the Symphony of Us”, these lower crowds will make this a great day at the Park.

Park Hopper Perk

Earlier Disney released several BIG discounts for this fall and holiday season. When you book the room offer and add a 4-day (or longer) base ticket, you will be upgraded to a Park Hopper for free!

EPCOT closes early on October 22, 2024, for a private event.

Starting October 6th, this free upgrade will be a great way to enjoy low crowds at EPCOT on October 22nd and then hop over to another park to enjoy nighttime entertainment.

Currently, Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios close at 9:00 pm on this date. While Disney’s Animal Kingdom closes at 6:00 pm. These Park hours may change especially for Magic Kingdom.
