Feel close to the magic by camping near the magic! Guests will take in the American frontier with all different types of wildlife including deer, rabbits, ducks, and armadillos that will roam the resort. Can you believe that this resort takes up 750 acres? You can relax in the great outdoors only minutes from Magic Kingdom!

Fort Wilderness Campground is commonly known as “The Fort.”

People travel from all over to camp at the Fort Wilderness Campground without ever stepping foot in a park! The campground has a following all of its own. People love to participate in the holidays and go all out when decorating their campsite and golf cart. Check out our complete guide to The Fort HERE.

Water flowed across the main road just beyond the 600 and in front of the 800 loops on Saturday (August 17, 2024) afternoon. It was reported by campers that there was a water main break. However, Disney has yet to confirm this. Disney is working to resolve the issue, but it has not been resolved.

Many campers reported having no water. Campers were moved out of the impacted loops.

There are currently no campers in the 600, 700, 800, and 900 loops. It is unclear if all of these loops were impacted by the reported water main break.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you are currently at The Fort, transportation has been impacted as work is still being done. The Fort Wilderness Trail is one-way from the 600 loop to the Settlement Bus Depot. All traffic going towards the Settlement is routed through the 600 loop to detour from the work being done as you can see in the picture above.

Guests must use Big Pine Drive to the Outpost or Meadow areas from the Settlement. Guests can still access all amenities. It just might take longer to get there!

Update: As of Friday evening (8/23/24) work is complete and Fort Wilderness Trail is open in both directions. Campers were seen set up and enjoying the previously impacted loops once again.
