Mears Upgrades Bring Back Magical Express Vibes

Are you still missing the Disney Magical Express option shuttling guests on a magical journey both to and from the Orlando International Airport? A new upgrade is giving us serious Magical Express vibes and we are here for it.

Change to Magical Express

We were absolutely shocked that Disney planned to end Disney’s Magical Express for Disney Hotel Guests in 2022. My (Donna) family always felt as though our vacation officially started as soon as we stepped aboard the Magical Express.

Many Guests turned to rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft to help them get around. Meanwhile, two companies emerged offering a shuttle service to and from Walt Disney World Resort.

Eventually, these two companies merged into Mears Connect. Since 2022, they are finally bringing a bit of Disney magic to Mears Connect.

Magical Extras

This summer, Mears Connect gave fun collectible stickers featuring their Mears Connect buses to the younger passengers. This quickly became a hit, this may have been what stirred up some more magic brewing for Mears Connect.

Younger guests will delight in new Mears Connect activity books starting this September. This will feature great new animal pals. This summer Mears invited guests to vote on names for 5 new animal pals: Doc the dolphin, Thomas the sea turtle, Maisy the manatee, and Fran & Frank the flamingos.

These new animal pals will be featured in the 10-page activity booklets. Young riders can learn more about these characters’ stories while they travel to and from the airport.

New Feature We Love!

One thing that made the journey aboard the Magical Express magical was the onboard entertainment. Currently, guests can enjoy fun trivia and video segments of the Mears’s animal pals, but soon even more content will debut.

Mears tailoring onboard entertainment will debut this fall.

Mears Connect guests can enjoy tailored video segments for when they first arrive and also a special video segment as they head back to the airport. This may be the magical extra to help make this the official start for vacation similar to the vibe of the Magical Express in the past.
