Earlier we shared that the often-forgotten, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, is set to close this October. At that time, it was uncertain if this may be for a refurbishment or if this show could close indefinitely.

We shared our hopes that this could be the new home to the Little Mermaid Musical Adventure Stage Show coming this fall. If this shift happened, this could allow the current Animation Courtyard to be replaced with the new Monsters Inc. land.

Now, it is confirmed that Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will officially close in October. The good news is this will now make way for a brand-new villains show.

Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is about to get the most villainous transformation yet. Settled in the shadows of the Tower of Terror, the villains will unite for the newly announced Sunset Showcase. This space will transform to allow guests into the reflective realm of the magic mirror.

This new show will feature appearances by dozens of the most infamous evildoers. Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent will delight guests in live production numbers.

This new show will open in the summer of 2025.
