It looks like we have another installment of Disney guests behaving badly. The pre-show for EPCOT’s Cosmic Rewind is now very different thanks to a few guests. Find out how this will affect your next mission to “Save the Galaxy”.
Cosmic Rewind Pre-shows
Since opening in 2022, Cosmic Rewind is widely popular. A virtual queue is still in place for Cosmic Rewind, while the Lightning Lane Single Pass is still available for this attraction.
Cosmic Rewind features two pre-shows before stepping aboard the attraction. The first takes place on earth featuring both Glenn Close in her role as Nova Prime Irani Rael and actor Terry Crews as Tal Marik.
When this show ends, guests can enter the teleportation room for the second pre-show. In this room, guests start at the Welcome Center on Earth and are transported to the Nova Corps ship.
Bad Guest Behavior
When guests first enter into the teleportation room, they are instructed to stand inside the lighted ring. After a series of flashing lights, the walls are lifted a large space allows guests to spread out.
The removal of the walls also reveals the doors that will lead to the attraction. Typically, once the walls are lifted guests will rush over to these doors.
Recently, a new trend has started where guests push on these doors which will open. Guests will exit this room while the pre-show is still playing.
Change
Due to this new trend, a Cast Member now supervises the doors leading to the attraction. While the pre-show is playing, the Cast Member will redirect guests to return to the middle of the room.

It will be interesting to see if Disney creates a different way to prevent guests from exiting this pre-show early.
What do you think of this change? Do you think Disney should make more permanent changes to help keep attractions moving smoothly? Share your thoughts with us and share this news with your Disney pals.

I always go to the left side during the preshows. Life is too short to be shoved and smashed while others run. I am the last one to leave the preshow. I don’t understand why so many people are rude in this line. It’s such a great ride! I haven’t been on it for a while due to an injury. Miss it.

This happened when we were there last month. We saw people push the door open and everyone followed them out. My son and I were so confused. People riding for the first time missed the pre show storyline. It annoyed us.

This will behavior continue as long as we continue to allow it

So, the change is, "a cast member monitors a door."
