Before you think about saying Bon Voyage, you need to know that Disney Cruise Line will now require new documentation for guests boarding the ship.
Disney Cruise Line
The Disney Cruise Line is growing in popularity among Disney fans. The fleet plans to welcome 4 new ships from 2027 through 2031.
Each ship has entertainment, dining, kids clubs, adult activities, and recreational activities. Be sure to check out why my (Donna) kids prefer a Disney Cruise over a day in the Parks HERE.
Disney Cruises allows guests to relax and soak in the Disney magic, but you will want to make sure that you are prepared with all of your travel necessities and correct paperwork.
New Documentation
All guests boarding the Disney Cruise Line must submit proper identification. In the past for select itineraries guests could submit a photocopy of their original birth certificate or a hospital-issued birth certificate.
This is now changing. Guests must now have their original birth certificate to board the Disney Cruise Line. A photocopy or a hospital-issued birth certificate will not be accepted.
Now Disney Cruise Line guests must submit one of the following: an original valid US passport or an original valid US passport card, an original valid Trusted Traveler Card (NEXUS, FAST), an original state-issued birth certificate, and a physical government-issued photo ID (except children under the age of 15).
How to Prepare
If you do not have a copy of your or your child’s birth certificate, do not fear. Many states offer an easy way to order a new birth certificate for a fee.
Original birth certificates are now required by the Disney Cruise Line.
Although we don’t understand the need for this change, prepare early and order your new birth certificate well in advance for your next cruise.
