Disney World Makes a Positive Change for the DAS Program

Disney Parks received much backlash when making changes to the Disability Access Service (DAS). After several months, they made a positive change for guests.

Guests who cannot wait in a physical standby queue for longer periods may benefit from Disney’s Disability Access Service. Instead of waiting in the standby line, they receive a return time that is equal to 10 minutes less than the current wait time.

That Guest and their party can then enter the Lightning Lane entrance and experience the attraction.

Both Walt Disney World and Disneyland announced big changes for those eligible for DAS. They stated that this will help ensure DAS is used fairly by those who truly need it. Check out these changes HERE.

With the previous changes that many considered negative, a positive change also happened. The DAS eligibility period increased from 60 days to 120 days.

The validity period is now doubled again. Instead of 120 days, this access is now valid for the length of your ticket or up to 240 days.

This is a great benefit for guests with an Annual Pass. For guests with an Annual Pass, once approved they will be eligible for DAS for up to 240 days.

What this means for you?

Once this service is elapased, guests must begin the enrollment process all over again. DAS is only valid for the location you registered for. You must register separately if visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Guests may still register 30 days before their trip via a live video chat. As noted with previous changes, there is not an in-person option to qualify for DAS.
