A New Manatee Has Arrived In EPCOT

A new manatee has arrived in Disney World, and we have pictures and videos for you! If you love marine life, be sure to head over to EPCOT in Walt Disney World to meet the newest addition to SeaBase.

Recently, we shared that Disney made some changes to the experiences available at EPCOT. These changes impact the beautiful aquarium at The Seas with Nemo and Friends and the offerings there.

For example, Disney is permanently relocating three dolphins to the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park. The Dolphins in Depth backstage tour will permanently close.

DiveQuest is also temporarily suspended. You can read more about closing dates and if/when experiences will reopen HERE.

Another change impacts the Manatees. Lou, an 1,800 pound rescued manatee, who was injured by a boat, has moved to a rehabilitation center in Florida that specializes in manatees. Lou will receive great care there.

But don’t worry. Epcot’s other resident manatee Lil Joe is not going anywhere for now. In fact, Lil Joe already has a new friend!

EPCOT’s New Mantaee Inigo has arrived at the Seas with Nemo and Friends. Inigo and Lil Joe seem to be getting along swimmingly.

If you are wondering how to tell the two apart, Inigo is the smaller one. Lil Joe is not so little by comparison. You can visit them both right now in EPCOT.

When we visited, we saw them munching on a nice meal. I don’t think I have ever seen a more peaceful meal.
