If you are heading to Universal Orlando, be prepared for refurbishments. Here are all the details for multiple ride closures so you know what to expect.
Refurbishments for Universal Orlando
No one likes to hear that an attraction will be closed for refurbishment during a trip to a theme park. It is especially hard when that attraction is one that is on the priority list.
Unfortunately, refurbishment is a fact of life at theme parks. After all, keeping up with ride maintenance helps keep everyone safe!
Universal already announced several refurbishments for late 2024. You can read about Men And Black’s closure dates HERE. And, Dudley Do Right’s Ripsaw Falls will also be out of commission as the year wraps up from November 7-December, 19 2024. And, now we know what to expect in 2025 as well.
Hogwarts Express
Some Guests love buying Park-to-Park tickets so they can enjoy the Hogwarts Express to travel between parks. The ride is only accessible with Park-to-Park tickets.
But, in early 2025, there will be days when it is not accessible at all. Those who wish to park hop between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure will have to exit and walk across City Walk to enter the second park.
Fortunately, this refurbishment is brief. It lasts from January 28-February 1, 2025.
Islands of Adventure
Islands of Adventure has multiple planned refurbishments for early 2025. First off, if you are here looking for information about Pteranodon Flyers, we have to say the news is not good it you were hoping to ride soon. We still have no reopening date.
Jurassic Park River Adventure will be closed for most of January. The refurbishment is planned to last from January 8-January 23, 2025.
Another ride will close right as it reopens. Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges will be closed from January 24, 2025, all the way to March 15, 2025. So, if you are hoping to get soaked on the barges, you’ll have to wait for spring.
Multiple refurbishments are already planned for 2025 at Universal.
Hopefully, everything in all parks will be up and running by May so that the crowds that will be flocking to the parks for the grand opening of Epic Universe will have as many attractions to disperse themselves across as possible.
Do any of these closures affect your travel dates? Be sure to pass the news along to friends and family who are traveling in early 2025 so they can manage their expectations.
