According to a criminal complaint, a Disney employee was terminated back in June for alleged misconduct. He worked at Walt Disney World as the menu production manager.

While employed with Walt Disney World, he was responsible for creating and publishing the menus for all of the restaurants. However, after he was fired, he continued to access the menu software and allegedly caused some problems.

According to the criminal complaint, this employee used a personal device to access the software. He used this access to make changes to menus.

Some of the hacks include adjusting menu pricing and adding profanity to the listings. Furthermore, he altered the menu fonts to Wingdings, a font made up entirely of symbols.

But, worst of all, he also changed the allergen information on some menus. He added information indicating that some of the menu items containing peanuts were safe for individuals with peanut allergies.

According to the criminal report, this menu alteration threatened public health and safety. Fortunately, Disney identified these menus before they could make it to restaurants in the parks. It was the font alterations that led other employees to notice something was off and stop the distribution of the menus.

The report claims that no one was harmed. However, if the menus had been made public, these hacks could have caused major issues for allergy sufferers.

In September, federal agents search the accused man’s home. They seized four personal computers. Still, he has denied any wrongdoing.

It should be noted that this incident is completely separate from the lawsuit that Disney is currently involved in that also deals with allergens in foods served at Raglan Road.
