Disney is changing things up a bit for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and unfortunately, some of our favorite characters and shows did not return this year. See the new character lineup and find out who is missing.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” at the Magic Kingdom as tonight is the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This special ticketed event is offered on select nights through December 20, 2024.
Many returning favorites like Minnie’s Wonderful Christmas Fireworks and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade are a must-do! Stage shows and dance parties will also take place.
A big draw for many guests is meeting their favorite characters dressed up for the holidays. Disney has done a bit of shuffle of characters this year.
Storybook Circus Switch
Like for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the 7 Dwarfs are once again missing from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas lineup. This is quite disappointing for many guests as these are such a fun, rare character meet and greet.
Previously the 7 Dwarfs greeted guests at Pete’s Silly Side Show in Storybook Circus. New this year, Storybook Circus is transformed into “Santa’s Christmas Carnival. This is a must-visit holiday destination filled with joyful Christmas cheer, friends from the North Pole—and, of course, Santa Claus.”
While enjoying this new offering, guests can also meet Minnie Mouse, Daisy & Donald Duck, and Scrooge McDuck over at Pete’s Silly Side Show.
Among the other missing characters this year is Goofy. Previously Santa Goofy greeted guests near Barnstormer. Although he no longer offers a traditional meet and greet, guests can catch a glimpse of Goofy at the Club Tinsel dance party.
Other Changes
Guests can receive their free gingerbread party ornament and meet the adorable gingerbread men near Tony’s Town Square.
Santa’s Christmas Carnival in Storybook Circus affected 8 characters for this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Other new characters for this year’s party include Bruno (now meeting with Mirabel) and our favorite sisters, Elsa and Anna, greeting guests together in Fantasyland. They are in brand new dresses from “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” this year.
Unfortunately, two shows are no longer offered: “Reindeer Wranglers” and “The Collective 5ive”. We like new additions but sometimes it’s hard when some of our favorites are no longer offered.
