Have you been not so patiently waiting for more information on Magic Kingdom’s Villains Land? Disney just revealed big concept plans and which villains are coming to this wickedly immersive land.
Villains Coming to Disney World
Our once-perfect Walt Disney World is about to get a villainous makeover. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, get ready for Sunset Boulevard to be transformed for a new villains show in the summer of 2025.
During the big D23 fan event in September, Disney officially announced plans for Villains Land. Villains Land will be located at Disney’s Magic Kingdom as part of the “Beyond Big Thunder” expansion.
Josh D’Amaro announced that there will be 2 attractions, dining, shopping, and more. Work will begin in 2025 for this new expansion.
Villainous Lineup Revealed
Since the official announcement, we have speculated which villains will define this new land. Thankfully Disney knew we needed more details, and they delivered big time.
At the D23 Brazil fan event, Josh D’Amaro shared, “Their evil ambitions give us endless possibilities to tell new stories. This new land will be home to the villains you know and loathe.”
D’Amaro then revealed that the following villains will be featured:
- Queen of Hearts (“Alice in Wonderland”
- Jafar (“Aladdin”)
- Lady Tremaine (“Cinderella”)
- Yzma (“The Emperor’s New Groove”)
- Cruella de Vil (“101 Dalmations”)
- Captain Hook (“Peter Pan”)
- Gaston (“Beauty and the Beast”)
- Mother Gothel (“Tangled”)
- Ursula (“The Little Mermaid”)
- Hades (“Hercules”)
- Chernabog (“Fantasia”)
- both live action and animated versions of the both the Evil Queen (“Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”) and Maleficent (“Sleeping Beauty”)
Concept Revealed
Disney reveals the overall concept of this new land. D’Amaro shares, “In our story, a mysterious spell has been cast, summoning villains from every realm. In this land, heroes don’t come to save the day — and there may not be a happily ever after!”
A magical power will bring together 13 of our favorite Disney baddies on a “twisted grand scale”.
A magical power so great will bring all 13 of the above mentioned villains to come together at the Magic Kingdom. D’Amaro concludes, “The addition will be on ‘an incredibly twisted grand scale’ unlike anything that Disney has done in the past at its parks.”
